Degenerate Justice
Degenerate Justice is a thesis project focused on creating the first issue of a sci-fi comic book series. Set in a dystopian future in which all crime is legal, the story follows charismatic detective, Zeke, and his cyborg assistant, Olympia, as they search for a missing girl, with only the corrupted memory of an android as their lead. Along the way, they also confront the complexities of their strained relationship.
In this collapsed society, an “eye for an eye” mentality has taken over, fueling a growing demand for private detectives to enforce justice for those who’ve been wronged. When a malfunctioning stripping android is dropped at the doorstep of Zeke’s agency as scrap, it begins to sing a children’s lullaby. Disturbed by the disconnect of its programming and the song, Olympia taps into its memories uncovering flashes of a kidnapping. Together, Zeke and Olympia set out to find the missing girl and bring her home safely.
Degenerate Justice features unique characters, props, and cityscapes. The project includes the comic itself, visual development illustrations, the written story, and the script. Flip through the pages and dive into the world of Degenerate Justice.
Olympia
Olympia is a cold, blunt, and apathetic canary (someone who sells private information) who is trying to keep her family afloat. She risked her life to fuse her brain with a computer, enabling her to navigate the cyberspace at high speeds and provide medicine for her sick father. Although she is a cyborg, she is the heart of the story. She cares and feels deeply for others, trying her best to help those in need.
Zeke
Zeke is a charismatic, witty detective who loves women and will do just about anything for money. Up until this point, it was always about him, until Olympia entered his life. Suddenly its not just about him anymore, but about her. He’s gained companionship and along with it, a realization that he could end up alone. Despite her blunt, apathetic attitude, he’s drawn to her. He can’t picture a world without her. So what happens when she puts herself in danger to help those less fortunate than her.
